White Chaunsa

Chaunsa mango originates from Multan, Punjab, Pakistan, carrying a royal Mughal heritage dating back to 1539 when Emperor Humayun named it after his historic victory at the Battle of Chausa. It is a medium-sized fruit weighing 200–350 grams with a kidney-shaped body and dense, fibre-free golden pulp delivering a Brix sugar level of 18–22%. The skin colour of Chaunsa is pale yellow to golden-orange when fully ripe, with a smooth, thin skin that releases a sweet floral aroma upon peeling. In export markets including the UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia, and Europe, Chaunsa commands a premium price of $2.50–$4.00 per kg, making it Pakistan’s highest volume exported mango variety annually.

Anwar Ratol

Anwar Ratol originates from Ratola village near Hafizabad, Punjab, Pakistan, named after local horticulturist Anwar Khan, who carefully developed this extraordinary variety in the early 20th century. It is one of Pakistan’s smallest mango varieties, weighing only 80–150 grams per fruit, yet packing an intensely concentrated honey-sweet flavour that far exceeds its tiny size. The skin colour is greenish-yellow to light golden when ripe, with a paper-thin, delicate skin and an overwhelmingly powerful fragrance that earns it the title of Pakistan’s “perfume mango.” Due to its ultra-short season of only 3–4 weeks in August and exceptional aroma, Anwar Ratol fetches the highest export price of $4.00–$6.00 per kg in Gulf and UK markets, making it Pakistan’s rarest luxury mango export.

From the golden fibre-free pulp of White and Black Chaunsa to the saffron richness of Alphonso and the perfumed intensity of Anwar Ratol, every mango variety tells a unique story of soil, climate, and centuries of careful cultivation. Chaunsa consistently leads in sweetness, juice content, export demand, and culinary versatility, making it Pakistan’s most commercially valuable and internationally recognised mango variety.

Both Mangoes are of a premium price and of export quality, and are almost equal, but the Anwar Ratol Mango is a rare Mango. The main difference is size. White Chaunsa is bigger than Anwar ratol.

Both Mangoes are favourites of each other depends on your taste and choice.

The main reason is the availability and rarity of Anwar Ratol it most available for a maximum of 10 days starting in July.

Chaunsa leads in total export volume to UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia, and Europe at $2.50–$4.00 per kg, while Anwar Ratol fetches a higher per-kg price of $4.00–$6.00 but in much smaller quantities due to its limited seasonal availability and rare production.
